1/2 C MIRIN
1/2 C SAKE
1/4 C SOY SAUCE
2 T SUGAR
1/4 C ORANGE JUICE
2 WHOLE CLOVES

HEAT MIRIN AND SAKE OVER LOW HEAT FOR 5 MINUTES.

ADD SOY SAUCE AND SUGAR. STIR UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVES.

SIMMER 25 MINUTES, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY.

ADD OJ AND CLOVES AND SIMMER 10 MINUTES MORE.
